Dear Friends,
Do you ever wonder how someone can be so happy? Do you ever wonder what is really going on inside of people's brains? I sure do. In this season of Winter, we come to realize how truly blessed we are. In the Catholic faith, we wait for the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We never realize how truly blessed we are until we see people who are less fortunate than us. In some places, some people have the tradition of donating food, clothing, toys, and even their services to the needy. It is our duty to treat everyone with respect and kindness. Let there be no hate in the world. Let there only be peace and happiness in the world. Spread joy and love. Promote giving. Even a simple smile at a stranger will surely make their day. You never know, even the littlest things in life can make the biggest impacts. So next time you go out and you see someone less fortunate, maybe give them a warm smile, a gesture of kindness, or even a few minutes of your time to talk. Before judging someone, disabled or not, think about what they may be going through. A woman walking her dog along the sidewalk on a windy day, may have just had the worst day of her life, but you wouldn't know that if you looked away or gave a hateful look. Maybe she just lost her husband. Who knows. Kindness is the key to joy. Always try to put others before yourself. If you have been holding on to that one darn sweater for just over a year, and you still haven't worn it, go on and give it away, either to a local donation location, or to someone on the street begging. The lady with the crying toddler over in the corner? Yeah, she's had a long day. Try to press away the hateful and annoyed feeling, and have sympathy. Go over and offer a listening ear and a hug. That may be just what she needed. Never judge someone just by a quick glance. Be loving and kind, and don't expect anything in return. Be aware of other people and how they may be feeling. Share joy and spread it far and wide.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
