Self-confidence didn't come easy for me. Growing up with Spina-Bifida doctors, teachers, therapists & care-givers tried to protect me from what they perceive may harm me either mentally, physically, or emotionally. As an adult, low self-esteem followed me. I looked for the approval of others to feel good about myself. It wasn't until I became a student at The Art of Karate that I gained self-confidence. After 3.5 years I earned the rank of black-belt and 1.5 yeas after that I earned the rank of 2nd degree black-belt All my training gave me a better self-esteem. I now speak and give demonstrations on the topics of self-defense, fitness and independence for the disabled through my organization Criptaedo.com
